9 Week Old American Pit Bull Terrier Learns “Touch”
Sorry for the cruddy video! This is Lars, my American Pit Bull Terrier at 9 weeks learning “Touch”. At this point I have not introduced a vocal command and I am just letting him know what the behavior I want is. Instead of a clicker I use “Yes” to mark the behavior. I used a ruler with tape wrapped around the end for our “target”. This video was taken just a few minutes after I introduced this ‘trick’ for the first time. Lars is now able to target and touch anything I ask of him.

Question by 40′s and Hip-Hop: RHH: WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THE HOUSTON LABEL RAP-A-LOT RECORDS?
The record label has been out almost as long as Def Jam. In the 90s Houston had some of the most gangster and violent hip-hop, even more so than the West Coast that gets most of the credit for gangster albums. Most of the Rap-A-Lot early releases have gone pretty much unnoticed and only acknowledge by those who dig deep for hip-hop music. So, for this post I’ll be shedding some light on the forgotten city of H-town and some of it’s gem.
In my opinion these are great albums that could make a great addition to your collection:
1991:Geto Boys: We Can’t Be Stopped- This one is a straight classic and it’s what put Texas on the map. I will not going into detail as I feel this album is already known by most fans, who can forget Mind Playing Tricks on Me?
1992 Big Mello: Bone Hard Zaggin- This album is on some pimp-smooth sh*t. The album has great production that’s great for riding in the car and I would dare to say that it’s better than the overrated The Chronic. Mac’s Drive ‘Lac’s is the highlight song in my opinion that would give you that southern player style that represents Texas.
1991:Convicts:Convicts- This album is the best ignorant rap album in history. It has some of the most ignorant views, but it’s done in a way that’s appealing for being so straight forward without holding back. The songs are set to old-style Houston beats, strictly harmonicas and church organs. It’s basically the genius of ignorant rap.
1992: Ganksta N-I-P: The South Park Psycho- This one is simply a horrorcore/gansgter rap album. NIP says some of the most weirdest things on this album, like clamming he has had sex with 90 year old grannies to women having sex with pit bulls. Check out it out, if you like dark topics…
91& 94: Scarface: Mr. Scarface Is Back/The Diary- These two albums are pretty much known by most, so I won’t say anymore.
1993: Seagram: The Dark Road- This rapper is from Oakland and he was shot to death in 96. The guy talks about dark subject matter and life experiences. Seagram makes a lot of reference of the devil, acknowledging Satan as ruler of the world. This is really Sea’s best LP, the dark roads has the old school samples from Tom Tom Club, Isaac Hayes, Zapp, & Chocolate Milk. It also has some groovy feel to it reminiscent to DJ Quik.

Out of all those I HIGHLY recommend Big Mello: Bone Hard Zaggin. Dope.

Tame Your Angry Child with This Power Tool!

Do you have an angry child? Does he growl like a pit-bull to get his way? Look inside for 5 parenting tips. Theyll give you a power tool for turning your angry kid into a rational child.
To get what they want, kids learn to holler at an early age. Babies cry. Toddlers scream, bite, and kick. Older children use these behaviors and add pouts, sarcasm, and arguments to get their way.
As parents, our job is to tame them for the real world. But how do you get your angry kid to become a rational child?
Imagine a ruler that measures anger. This ruler numbers from zero to twelve. Zero is never angry. Twelve is pistol-ready to fire at any moment.
To help your child become rational you need to use your parenting skills. You need to show him pull how to remove his finger from the trigger, lay down his anger, and use his head.
To become rational hell need to move his anger from 12 on the ruler to the frustration zone between 4 and 8. In this area he can begin to act rationally. Heres how:
5 Parenting Tips for Taming Your Angry Child ~
1. Use or draw a ruler with numbers from zero to twelve. Color the area between 4 and 8 to make it special. Thats the frustration zone.
2. Talk about the ruler with your child. Discuss how twelve is ready to explode at any moment like a pit bull protecting his bone. Were not dogs. Were humans. As human beings we have the power to think before we act. To do this we need to use our power tools, a thinking mind with thoughtful choices.
3. Show Zero on the ruler. Discuss how zero represents no feelings. Rocks are at zero because they dont have feelings. People do. Our task is to bring our anger down from 12 to the frustration zone, the area between 4 and 8.
4. Ask your child to pick a time in the past when he exploded with anger. Tell him to close his eyes and feel the emotion he had at the time. Then tell him not to open his eyes until he brings his emotion down to the frustration zone between 4 and 8. When he opens his eyes, ask him how he did it. If he says, I dont know, tell him to guess.
Listen to his answers. I know theyll be fascinating. Tell him to practice this technique whenever hes upset. This is his power tool.
5. Practice the technique above. Pick out several more situations when he acted with anger. With each situation tell him to feel the anger he had at the time. Then work with him to bring his emotion down to the frustration zone.
Discuss how he can use this power tool any time he needs it. Its within his mind. Its his gift of reason.
Conclusion for Taming Your Angry Child:
Use the above parenting tips. Display the ruler on the refrigerator. Discuss it often.
Be your childs model. Tell your child how you used your power tool to bring your emotion into the frustration zone.
Praise your child when he tells you how he used his power tool to control his anger. If you do, youll be taming your angry child and youll be building his rational character too.
